Positive: Very cute place. Carlos was particularly welcoming and, as a birder, I was thrilled when he accompanied me on an early morning excursion to the Mirador to show me where the trails were, and where I could see the best birds. Muchas Gracias! I was surprised at the variety of birds. With more birder presence, I'm sure more species will show. Lots of outlets in the rooms, bed had lots of blankets which was important given how cold it was. The previous tenant warned me the water was not very hot, but with the water heating system, the higher the volume you run, the more it is diluted with cold water. So just turn the flow volume down and you'll have a cozy shower!

Negative: Like all Colombian beds....way too hard for my comfort!

Summary: I was surprised at the variety of birds. With more birder presence, I'm sure more species will show.

Positive: I really loved this place. It's very quiet and peaceful (certainly compared to the hustle and bustle of Medellin). It's a bit of a walk to the nearest restaurant in Santa Elena, but that was fine by me. If you want a perfect place to decompress and just relax for a few days, this is definitely it. Carlos was very kind and accommodating, and Juan was very helpful and considerate, as well.

Negative: Minor issue with the toilet running all the time. I just had to manually turn the tank on and off.
